Our Staff

Mark has served as pastor of South Walker Baptist since 2007. His ministry philosophy is simple: The church gathers to serve Christ together and to train, equip, and encourage believers to be the image of Christ. This for the purpose of being the scattered church, fulfilling the will of Christ to serve him and strive to turn the hearts of people to Christ our Savior. Mark holds an MDiv from B. H. Carroll Theological Institute.

Harris has served at South Walker Baptist since 2020. His vision for ministry is to glorify God by presenting Jesus Christ to youth so that they would accept Him as their Lord and Savior, grow continually in His grace, and serve Him in His church. Harris has a BA in Christian Ministry (2019) and an MDiv in Biblical Languages (2022), both from NOBTS.

Sunshine has been in the children’s ministry with South Walker Baptist since 2018. Her passion for sharing the Gospel keeps her motivated in the children’s ministry. She cherishes the ups (and the downs!) of working with all of our kids and feels truly blessed to be apart of God’s work. Her prayer is that God works through her to prepare our kids for a deeper relationship with Christ for when they move up to the youth.  Come bring those kids so we can have some fun fellowshipping!

Shelbi is an early education student at Southeastern Louisiana University. She is passionate for people and prioritizing the needs that aren’t always seen. She represented Christ in Pittsburgh on a mission trip in 2021 and boldly leads the missions efforts at our church.

KaRetha has served with SWBC for many years as a fellow servant of Christ through the ministry of our local association and the local CEF ministry.  God called her and her husband to “officially” join SWBC in 2021.  She now serves as our (whatever title) and strives to do her “utmost for His highest” in all she does, whether it is printing a bulletin, writing a check, leading a class, or serving a meal.  She loves the Lord and His church and considers it an honor to work and help wherever needed.

Hope has been a member of South Walker Baptist since 2014. She holds several positions and serves in many ways. The position she holds dear to her heart is being the director of our church’s “Angel Guardian Nursery” since 2018. Just as Jesus does, Hope loves all children and takes delight in knowing that she gets to share Jesus with them.
